I took this little gem yesterday in Riverside by The Mission Inn.
What a beautiful area.
Quaint, quiet, and just enough of Christmas to pull off this shot.
Even if they know you, kids and animals are the hardest to shoot.

Below is a shoot for DIVAS AND THEIR DOGS.
Brenda Lynn Martin is instrumental in getting local celebrities together and venues to shoot.
Pictured with her is Diva, Bella da Ball, AKA Brian, his husband, Ken, and their precious daughter, Holly.
This Holiday Season, if you're thinking about adopting a furry family member, please go to your local shelter, and save a soul.
We were all put here to help one another, not ignore suffering.
Speak up for critters, they cannot speak for themselves.
Thank you.

Before I moved to the Palm Springs area, I followed Trio on Facebook, and thought this is the kind of community I would like to get involved with and support.
Yesterday's gathering was a huge success to insure that ALL members of our community have a joyous Holiday Season.

Another EPIC event.
Across from me are the usual suspects:
(from left to right )
Cindy Recio, Maureen Martin, and Brenda Lynn Martin.
I had a great time, and I'm looking forward to many more outings with these ladies.

Brenda Lynn Martin was the guest of honor.
Next to her is Brian Neil Hoff.
I just met these two a few weeks ago, and they have become wonderful people in my life.
Thank you so much Brenda for the invitation to shoot your special evening.
I hope there are many more to come.

I was supposed to go with my friend, Kate.
Well, I was forty five minutes late, and I didn't call. Yes, I was inconsiderate.
Fact is, I am rarely late. Ask anyone, in fact, I'm usually embarrassingly early.
Fact is, she could have called me too.
Iv'e got a few things going on in my life, like getting screwed financially.
One a theft, the other, an unscrupulous business woman that I wrote about earlier.
I was on the phone, getting advice on how to handle everything, and lost track of time.
My bad.
I apologized, but it fell on deaf ears.
Let's just say that yesterday was "one of those days."
I still had a great time hanging with myself, and I got some great shots

The blond in the picture, is Lani Garfield, who does beautiful photography work here in the desert.
The gal next to her is Brenda Lynn Martin. She's in Public Relations.
She goes to every function and knows everyone in the Coachella Valley.
She is the HUB of information and contacts.
Thank God for her.
What a sweet, kind soul.
She reminds me of Grace Slick.
Brenda is an animal advocate and works closely with Loving All Animals, a rescue here in the Valley.
She's also on the cover of LIVE Magazine and there's going to be a cover party for her at Lulu's, here in Palm Springs.
If you're in town, stop by and give Brenda a hug !

***PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT***
If you are ever approached by this woman, Theresa Darrah, to do any advertising, or any kind of business venture, RUN, RUN FOR THE FREAKIN' HILLS !.
GET AS FAR AWAY AS YOU CAN !!!
Unscrupulous business woman. Approaches you under the guise of wanting to collaborate with you, only to sell you advertising,.
She says she'll use your services, makes a verbal agreement with you, then a couple of days later, calls you, and tells you she's not going to pay the agreed upon price because she introduced you to someone, or gave you a deal you didn't ask for.
When you call to confront her, she will not return your call, but will text you, and tell you that you're being abusive . She is manipulative, and will tell you that, " You will not prosper with your attitude."
Really !!??
She tells you that "She believes in you."
BLECH !!! I think I just threw up in my mouth.
Nor will she return your money.
An honest person, with character and integrity, would return your money when you're not happy with their services.
SHE IS FULL OF BALONEY, AND WILL TELL YOU ANYTHING TO GET YOUR MONEY.
RUN, RUN, RUN.
Since this is MY BLOG, I feel I'm doing a PUBLIC SERVICE by warning other HONEST businesses about this individual.
Someone who I thought I would be able to work with on future projects.
Seems this woman is somewhat dishonest and manipulative in the way she does business, which doesn't fly with me.
I'm a straight shooter. When I make an agreement with someone, I keep it. Honesty is important to me, not only in business, but in my every day life.
It seems there isn't enough of it going around these days.

You can visit him at DSLRclasses.com...he's also on Facebook under the same name.
A friend and I attend his photography workshops in Coronado Bay, Balboa Park, and Las Vegas.
He teaches at all levels, and the workshops are very inexpensive for the amount of information and personal attention he gives each participant. Not to mention that he is very sweet, patient, and knows his shit. He provides water and snacks, and always chooses a beautiful location to shoot. He also goes the extra mile to take you to 'secret spots' to get you that shot *at the end of the day*.
Please check him out. If you're a serious photographer, or just want to get to know your camera better, invest in yourself, and take a workshop from Hector.

She has a bad toe, sore toe, in too much pain to go out and party toe...so we brought the party to her.
With about 8 people showing up, everyone brings a dish to share, spark up the BBQ, some swimming.
We watched How to Marry a Millionaire...an old flick with Marilyn Monroe, Betty Grable, and Lauren Bacall...it was actually funny, and reminded us all how times have changed.
Then it was on to a Tom Cruise movie, Jack Reacher. I'm not a Cruise fan, but I do like some of his movies. He takes his job as an actor seriously and definitely delivers. Jack Reacher kept us all engaged, and I have to admit, I was wrong towards the end of the film when they revealed the true culprit.
At the end of the day, everyone had a great time, and went home with extras. I have to say, I am a part of a great group of women here in the desert...we're all so different, but get along so tremendously well. I look forward to many more outings and sore toes.

I can honestly say that I'm having the freaking best time of my life !!!
I've made new friends, and business contacts, have been invited to some awesome parties, danced the day away, and even though it's now Monday, I still feel like it's still the weekend.
Life is awesome here in the desert.
I never pictured myself NOT living by the ocean, but this new life, this new energy seems to be working for me. Everything is easy and coming together as it should. Enjoy the photos...it was an awesome day !
